The Run-A-Muck Fund aims to encourage youth to get and stay involved in hunting. Hunting isn’t just a sport – it’s a lifestyle promoting time outdoors, bonding with family and friends, outdoor education, conservation and sustainability, healthy food, old and new traditions, and an appreciation for life and nature.
The first step to getting involved in hunting is to complete the Hunter Education and Firearms Safety courses. Youth 12 to 20 years old living in the Muskoka area can apply for financial assistance for the fees associated with the courses.
Bradly, as Steve Bradley was known to his friends, was an avid hunter and outdoorsman for his entire life. At the age of 17, he and nine of his friends started Camp Run-A-Muck, an “unorganized” invite-only deer camp in Dwight, Ontario. In 2025, Run-A-Muck celebrates 50 years with three generations of hunters.
The camp was Bradly’s happy place, his only vacation time, and ….. His favourite saying was “Can’t beat a camp!” Bradly encouraged his children and grandchildren to be apart of the camp, and he enjoyed teaching them about hunting and the outdoors.
In Ontario, Hunters are required to complete both the Ontario Hunter Education Course and the Canadian Firearms Safety Course. These courses are often offered together in one weekend.
Without your support, this would not be possible.
